The cast and filmmakers of TILL celebrated and honored the legacy of Emmett Till and Mamie Till-Mobley
for the World Premiere at the 60th New York Film Festival.
Danielle Deadwyler, Jalyn Hall, Whoopi Goldberg, Sean Patrick Thomas, John Douglas Thompson, Jayme Lawson, Tosin Cole, and more graced the red carpet alongside filmmakers Chinonye Chukwu (director/co-writer), Barbara Broccoli (producer), Fred Zollo (producer),
Keith Beauchamp (producer/co-writer), and Michael Reilly (producer/co-writer); as well as Deborah Watts (cousin of Emmett Till and co-founder of the Emmett Till Legacy Foundation); and mothers of the movement including Leslie Mcspadden-Head (mother of Michael Brown), Marian Tolan (mother of Robbie Tolan), and Kadiatou Diallo (mother of Amadou Diallo). See who was on the carpet inside…
Till is a profoundly emotional and cinematic film about the true story of Mamie Till-Mobley’s relentless pursuit of justice for her 14 year old son, Emmett Till, who, in 1955, was lynched while visiting his cousins in Mississippi. In Mamie’s poignant journey of grief turned to action, we see the universal power of a mother’s ability to change the world.
Based on the true story, see TILL in select theaters October 14th and everywhere October 28th.
