Yesterday, students at this year’s Disney Dreamers Academy had the exclusive opportunity of taking part in a magical parade at Walt Disney World Resort in Florida. They were joined in the colorful parade at Magic Kingdom Park by Grammy-nominated singer Halle Bailey, who will play the lead role of Ariel in the upcoming live-action remake of Disney’s “The Little Mermaid.” Bailey is the Disney Dreamers Academy celebrity ambassador for this year’s event. Additionally, the parade included other favorite Disney characters, like Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse and Princess Tiana.
The parade kicked off the 16th year of Disney Dreamers Academy, a four-day, transformational, mentoring program designed to broaden career awareness and create opportunities for Black high school students and teens from underrepresented communities across America. More inside…
Drum Major Mickey Mouse leads a celebratory parade Thursday with 100 students at Magic Kingdom Park during Disney Dreamers Academy at Walt Disney World Resort in Lake Buena Vista, Fla. The Disney Dreamers Academy runs through Sunday and is a mentorship event hosted annually by Walt Disney World Resort to foster the dreams of 100 Black students and teens from underrepresented communities around the country.
