Angela Bassett on filming underwater scenes for her hit show “9-1-1”:

“I’ve been in water before, in ‘Wakanda.’ This one (on “9-1-1”), this is rising water. Now I know it may be six minutes on camera, but it takes a good 12-14 hours a day.” Tamron asks if her experience filming these scenes was as challenging as filming similar scenes in “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever.” Basset answers, “It was, they started low, then they go high, almost drowned, they wanted me to go under the water – I draw the line!”

Angela Bassett teases her potential return to Broadway:

“Theater is my first love. On the stage you go out, it’s you, the audience, every audience, every night, it’s different. There’s no cut and fixing it, it’s there in the moment, so I love it. [I’m] reading a lot of things now, you know, young, new playwrights, established playwrights, but maybe a new voice, that would be intriguing.”
