Fat Joe was born Joseph Antonio Cartagena on August 19, 1970, in the Bronx, New York. He started his music career in the early 1990s with the group D.I.T.C. (Diggin’ in the Crates Crew), before launching his solo career.
His 2001 hit “What’s Luv?” featuring Ashanti and Ja Rule became a massive success and is one of his most well-known songs. Fat Joe founded his own record label, Terror Squad, which has signed notable artists such as Big Pun, Remy Ma, and DJ Khaled. Besides music, Fat Joe has also appeared in several films and TV shows, including “Happy Feet,” “Scary Movie 3,” and “Empire. In recent years, Fat Joe has made significant lifestyle changes, losing over 100 pounds to improve his health.

He is known for his philanthropic efforts, including providing relief and support during natural disasters and contributing to community initiatives.
