I had the incredible opportunity to take an exclusive VIP tour of Oka Brands’ factory and witness their impressive closed-loop manufacturing system, which transforms used shoes into brand-new ones. Oka Brands, a national leader in sustainable footwear, is based in Buford, GA.
Since 1984, they’ve been crafting shoes locally in Buford, Georgia, and as a family-owned, independent business, our commitment to our core values remains steadfast.
Oka’s Sustainable Active Recovery footwear is made in the USA using 100% USA-sourced single injection EVA foam. These shoes are designed to speed up the body’s recovery after a long day of standing, walking, or a tough workout. By wearing footwear that supports your wellness, you’ll notice a positive shift in your everyday life. Oka is sustainable recovery for all – created by and for people like you: everyday athletes who prioritize wellness, liberty, and environmental responsibility.
During my visit, I had the pleasure of meeting Oka board member Sara Irvani and CEO Pepper Harward. We had a great meet-and-greet, followed by a tour of the factory where I got to see firsthand how they make the shoes. I also got an exclusive preview of their new OKA Active Recovery flip-flops and slides, as well as a sneak peek at a new Mary Jane design from their Oka-B collection. It was absolutely darling!
I was thoroughly impressed by the company’s dedication to sustainability, as everything they produce is recycled. It’s great to see a company so committed to both the environment and the well-being of its customers.
