The story follows Bob Ferguson (Leonardo DiCaprio), a former revolutionary who’s been off the grid for years, trying to live a low-key life with his daughter Willa.
Their peace is interrupted when an old enemy, someone from Bob’s revolutionary past resurfaces after 16 years. Worse, his daughter Willa is kidnapped. Bob must reunite with his former comrades (ex-revolutionaries) to rescue her.
The film mixes action, dark humor, satirical elements, and political themes. It draws inspiration from Thomas Pynchon’s novel Vineland, though it is not a direct adaptation.
