Faith Evans Shares Her Personal Journey Raising A Son With Autism

Faith Evans opened up on the Tamron Hall Show about her journey raising her son, Ryder Russaw, who is on the autism spectrum and how that path transformed her into an advocate for other families. Ryder was just shy of three years old when he received his diagnosis, but Evans shared that getting there wasn’t easy.

“I felt like he should be talking,” she recalled. “He should be saying a few words by now. I finally begged enough that they gave me a written diagnosis.”

Before that, doctors had repeatedly told her to wait, reassuring her that every child develops at their own pace. But Evans’ intuition told her something more was going on.

Once Ryder was officially diagnosed, Evans began navigating the world of therapies, services, and support a process that was often overwhelming and filled with uncertainty. Finding a community of other parents became her lifeline, offering her guidance, knowledge, and eventually, hope.

“Thank God for the parents who helped me early on,” she said. “They were my first advocates, and I wanted to pay that forward. I’ve learned so much, and now I want to share that with other parents who don’t know where to turn.” See more photos and video clip inside…
