Love Finds Its Way Back: Chilli & Matthew Lawrence on Second Chance Love

TLC’s Rozonda “Chilli” Thomas and actor Matthew Lawrence are opening their hearts to the Tam Fam, sharing sweet, intimate details about their real-life love story along with an exciting new chapter they’re writing together on screen. The couple also dishes on their new unscripted Hallmark+ series, Second Chance Love, a show rooted in romance, reflection, and the belief that true love can find its way back.

Chilli and Matthew, who have been happily dating since 2022, are co-hosting the heartfelt series, which follows five couples as they reunite in the breathtaking setting of Sardinia, Italy. Each pair ranging in age from their 30s to their 70s and connected by relationships that ended anywhere from five to 40 years ago embarks on a two-week journey filled with nostalgia, emotional honesty, romantic dates, and the chance to rekindle something once deeply cherished.

“At the end of this experience, five couples will have a big decision to make,” Lawrence shares. “Will they leave separately, or will they leave together? This series could truly become a Hallmark love story for them.”

Guided by Chilli and the Boy Meets World star, the couples revisit the past, confront unresolved feelings, and create new memories proving that some connections never fully fade. Hallmark Media’s head of unscripted programming, David Stefanou, notes that nearly 80 percent of reunited first loves go on to stay together long-term, underscoring the timeless power of enduring love.

“Is love in the air? We’re about to find out,” Lawrence says in the show’s first trailer. Chilli adds with a smile, “The next two weeks will be filled with romantic adventures and relationship-renewing experiences. I mean, how could you not fall in love in a place like this?”
