On today’s episode of Sherri, Kandi Burruss sat down with host Sherri Shepherd for a candid and layered conversation about embracing single life after her split from Todd Tucker. The former The Real Housewives of Atlanta star opened up about navigating divorce in the public eye, admitting she kept the news private for four months while they were separated especially since it all unfolded around the holidays. She shared that she simply didn’t know how or when to go public and wanted to handle things respectfully, particularly for the sake of their children.
Kandi made it clear she isn’t trying to make anyone the villain. “You’re damned if you do, damned if you don’t,” she explained, addressing the constant assumptions and the wave of fake AI-generated headlines that can quickly spiral online. Sometimes, she said, you have to speak up just to set the record straight.
Now stepping into a new chapter, Kandi admitted she’s both curious and cautious about dating again. While her DMs are definitely wild, she confessed she might peek but she’s not exactly diving in headfirst. In fact, she revealed she’s a little afraid of dating and being single again. Though she’s known for owning a successful bedroom toy line, she laughed off any assumptions, making it clear that just because she’s in that business doesn’t mean anything is happening on a first date.
Spicy? Yes. Reckless? Not at all. Kandi described herself as pretty chill she enjoys simple, fun outings like amusement parks but when it comes to romance, trust has to be built first. This new era is all about moving thoughtfully, protecting her peace, and doing things completely on her own terms.
