On April 4, love took center stage at the breathtaking Conservatory at Blackberry Ridge in Trenton, Georgia, where Olympic gold and bronze medalists and devoted partners Noah Lyles and Junelle Bromfield officially began their forever. Surrounded by beauty, culture, and the warm glow of celebration, the couple exchanged heartfelt “I dos,” a moment that felt written in the stars since announcing their engagement in October 2024. The day radiated joy, romance, and a stunning celebration of melanin in all its brilliance.
“The theme is definitely all shades of melanin,” Junelle shared with ESSENCE just days before the wedding. “You’ll see a lot of rich browns, gold accents, and pure glam.” The couple also infused meaningful nods to their cultures throughout the celebration, especially in the fashion.
For Noah, style was as intentional as the moment itself. His first look was a deep-toned suit subtly woven with shimmering threads that reflected the hues worn by his groomsmen a sparkling tribute to the many shades of melanin, finished with touches of gold. Later in the evening, he changed into a lighter brown suit designed for comfort and movement.
“My second suit is lighter, more breathable, more relaxed,” Noah shared. “I needed something I could dance in. That’s the most important part. If I can’t move, have fun, and celebrate, then what’s the point? The celebration is my favorite part.”
And Junelle? She floated down the aisle in a gown that felt straight out of a fairytale. The bride wore a breathtaking one-shoulder Pantora Bridal creation that began with a structured corset bodice before cascading into a voluminous princess-style skirt. Delicate crystal appliqués shimmered across the gown and veil, catching the light with every step and adding an ethereal layer of elegance.
“This dress is me living out my childhood dream,” she said. “I grew up watching Cinderella and all the Disney princess movies. As a little girl, you dream about feeling like a princess or a queen and ballgowns give you exactly that feeling. I thought, this is the one day I get to be extra and wear the biggest gown possible.”
Beyond the magic of Disney, Junelle also drew inspiration from the stunning bridal traditions of Nigerian and African weddings. “Every time I saw those brides, I’d think, ‘Oh my gosh, they’re so beautiful,’” she shared. “So I knew I wanted a dress from an African designer. I wanted to feel Black, confident, and beautiful.”
And beautiful she was.
From the radiant fashion to the heartfelt vows, the day was a breathtaking reflection of love, culture, and celebration. And perhaps the sweetest detail of all? This love story first began with a simple DM on Instagram proof that sometimes forever really can start with a message. Congratulations to the stunning couple.
