The 2026 ESSENCE Festival of Culture® Presented by Coca-Cola® officially kicked off inside the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center with its inspiring theme, “We Love Us,” setting the stage for an unforgettable weekend celebrating Black excellence, culture, beauty, music, and entrepreneurship. Festivalgoers explored a dynamic lineup of daytime experiences, including the We Love Us Marketplace, GBEF® HQ, Book Festival @ ESSENCE Authors, BeautyCon®, Suede Lounge, and the always-buzzing ESSENCE Main Stage.
One of the weekend’s biggest daytime attractions was Cardi B, who made ESSENCE Festival her first appearance following the launch of her latest world tour. Before igniting the stage at the Caesars Superdome later that evening, the Grammy Award-winning superstar stopped by the Beauty Con Stage for an intimate conversation hosted by beauty entrepreneur Brooke DeVard.
Looking effortlessly glamorous, Cardi shifted the spotlight from music to business as she discussed her rapidly growing haircare brand, Grow Good. The chart-topping artist opened up about what inspired her to enter the beauty industry, revealing that creating high-quality products at an accessible price point has always been at the heart of her vision.
Known for selling out online within minutes, Grow Good was also available for festival attendees to shop in person, giving fans a rare opportunity to get their hands on the highly sought-after collection.
Throughout the conversation, Cardi proved she’s every bit as savvy in the boardroom as she is on stage. She shared valuable insights on entrepreneurship, emphasizing that exceptional quality, smart branding, authenticity, and consistency are the keys to building a successful business. Her candid advice inspired aspiring entrepreneurs to pursue their passions while creating brands with lasting impact.
From dominating the charts to building a flourishing beauty empire, Cardi B continues to show that she’s not just a global entertainer she’s a powerhouse businesswoman redefining what success looks like.
