Nia Long Makes Hollywood History With a Star-Studded Walk of Fame Celebration

Congratulations are in order for Nia Long! The beloved actress officially received her star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on September 16, 2026, celebrating an incredible career that has spanned more than three decades.

Nia Long has been one of those actresses whose work has become woven into the fabric of Black Hollywood. From her breakout performance in Boyz n the Hood to her unforgettable role as Lisa Wilkes on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, she quickly became a familiar and beloved face on both the big and small screens.

Her impressive film résumé continued with memorable roles in classics including Friday, Love Jones and Soul Food, establishing her as one of the most recognizable actresses of her generation.

Now, her legacy has officially been cemented in Hollywood history.

Long received the 2,857th star on the iconic Hollywood Walk of Fame, located at Hollywood Boulevard and N. El Centro Avenue. The celebration brought together family, friends and industry supporters to honor the woman behind so many unforgettable performances.

And who better to help celebrate than Snoop Dogg? The legendary rapper served as one of the ceremony’s special speakers and arrived wearing a custom jacket featuring Nia’s face. He had the crowd laughing while paying tribute to her enormous influence and cultural impact.

Nia was also surrounded by some of the people closest to her heart. Her mother, Talita Long, joined her at the podium, along with her two sons, Massai Dorsey II and Kez Udoka. Film producer Graham King also shared remarks, while Variety correspondent Angelique Jackson served as emcee.

But perhaps the most touching part of the celebration was the personal meaning Nia attached to her star.

She explained that the four points surrounding her star represented the people and values that helped shape her journey:

Her Faith: Dedicated to God, acknowledging the foundation of her life and career.

Her Mother: A tribute to Talita Long, who supported her daughter’s dreams, drove her to auditions and stood beside her during the early days of her career.

Her Sons: Dedicated to Massai and Kez, representing the love and inspiration they bring to her life.

Bottom Right -Loved Ones Lost: Honoring her father, grandparents, ancestors and filmmaker John Singleton, whose lives and legacies remain part of her story.

Sisterhood: Celebrating the incredible women who have supported, encouraged and uplifted her throughout her journey.

This was so much more than a star on Hollywood Boulevard. It was a celebration of faith, family, sisterhood, perseverance and legacy.

After more than 30 years of unforgettable characters and iconic performances, Nia Long now has a permanent place on one of Hollywood’s most famous streets and this beautiful honor feels like a well-deserved celebration of everything she has contributed to the culture.
