New Edition Brings Out Their Wives At The 55th Annual NAACP Image Awards

R&B crooners affectionately known as New Edition brought out their wives to the 55th Annual NAACP Image Awards in Los Angeles which took place at Shrine Auditorium and Expo Hall on March 16th! Singers Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, Ralph Tresvant, Ronnie DeVoe, Johnny Gill and Bobby Brown hit up the red carpet in grand style and full of smiles, I must add! I never seen all of their spouses in the same photo, they all look so good! Everyone is color coordinated and looking pretty sharp. I love to see couples happy together! I’m wondering why Johnny Gill doesn’t have a date though hmm?

New Edition was formed in Boston in 1978, originally consisting of childhood friends Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, Bobby Brown, Ronnie DeVoe, and Ralph Tresvant. Their debut album, “Candy Girl,” was released in 1983 when the members were just teenagers. The title track became a hit single, propelling them to stardom. Several members went on to have successful solo careers. Bobby Brown found fame with hits like “My Prerogative,” while Ralph Tresvant released solo albums and had hits like “Sensitivity.”

After New Edition’s initial breakup in the late 1980s, Ricky Bell, Michael Bivins, and Ronnie DeVoe formed the trio Bell Biv DeVoe (BBD), known for their hit single “Poison.” Despite numerous lineup changes and personal challenges, New Edition has reunited several times for tours and albums, including a successful reunion in the early 2000s. New Edition is often credited with helping to popularize the “boy band” genre, paving the way for groups like New Kids on the Block and Boyz II Men. They have received numerous accolades, including an American Music Award and several Soul Train Awards. Their impact on R&B and pop music continues to be felt today. See more photos inside….
