Marlon Wayans On 20th Anniversary Of White Chicks, Getting Robbed & Best Parenting Advice

 

Comedian and Producer Marlon Wayans stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live the other night. He talked about his friendship with Guest Host Lamorne Morris, his concern for Lamorne’s dry hands, having older kids and a one-year-old, parenting advice, getting robbed, his Wild Child comedy tour, the 20th anniversary of White Chicks, people trying to cancel them for it, and the possibility of a sequel.

Marlon Wayans is part of the famous Wayans family, known for their significant contributions to comedy and entertainment. His siblings include Keenen Ivory, Damon, Shawn, and Kim Wayans, all of whom are also in the entertainment industry.

While Marlon wasn’t a regular on the show, his older siblings Keenen Ivory and Damon Wayans were key figures in the groundbreaking sketch comedy show “In Living Color.” Marlon made his film debut in “I’m Gonna Git You Sucka” (1988), a parody of blaxploitation films directed by his brother Keenen Ivory Wayans.

Marlon, along with his brother Shawn, co-wrote and starred in the first two “Scary Movie” films, which were highly successful parodies of horror films.  Marlon starred alongside his brother Shawn in the comedy film “White Chicks” (2004), where they portrayed FBI agents disguised as white women. The film has since become a cult classic.

Marlon has shown his versatility by taking on serious roles in films like “Requiem for a Dream” (2000), where he portrayed a drug addict, showcasing his range beyond comedy. Marlon starred in and produced his own sitcom, “Marlon,” which aired from 2017 to 2018. The show was loosely based on his own life.

In addition to acting, Marlon is also a stand-up comedian and has performed numerous comedy tours.He attended the Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music & Art and Performing Arts in New York City and later went to Howard University in Washington, D.C. Marlon co-founded the digital media company “What the Funny,” which creates and distributes comedy content.
