Recently, my daughter Tyra was invited on a fabulous five-day birthday getaway to Turks and Caicos with a close friend Keyanna and let me tell you, the entire trip was nothing short of extraordinary. I was already thrilled for her when she mentioned it was a birthday trip with about ten friends. But then came the jaw-drop moment: they were flying on a private jet.
Now, Tyra is no stranger to travel she’s explored the world far and wide but this marked her first time flying private. I was in awe (and maybe just a little envious)! Her friend was celebrating her 32nd birthday and decided to do it in the most glamorous way imaginable. Her husband pulled out all the stops, surprising her by chartering a private jet to whisk the group away in style roundtrip, all expenses paid. And the accommodations? A stunning six-bedroom mansion complete with a private chef and a full-time butler. Talk about traveling in luxury.
I told Tyra to soak it all in and to be safe and check in often! When she returned yesterday, I couldn’t wait to hear every last detail. Naturally, my first question was: What was it like to fly on a private jet?
Her response? “Mom… it’s going to be really hard flying commercial after that.” She described the VIP treatment, pulling up to the airport just 25 minutes before departure, skipping all the lines, and simply stepping onto the plane. No crowds, no waiting, just effortless luxury. She even noted how fast the jet felt in the air, arriving at their destination much quicker than usual.
We often see private jets on social media and imagine the experience but now, I can say I know someone who’s truly lived it. And it felt amazing to witness it through her eyes. To be young, free, and flying private what a moment! See some fun shots inside…
