Ribs, Mac & Cheese, and Blueberry Wings… Oh My!

My girlfriend called me the other day practically squealing with excitement about a new barbecue spot she stumbled on right in our area. She said, “Tami, you have to go try it. You will thank me later!” She was not lying. I stopped by Almighty Pit BBQ and let me tell you, I was in pure food heaven.

I ordered the ribs, firecracker coleslaw, baked beans, mac and cheese, cabbage, and their most talked-about menu item: the blueberry wings. Yes, blueberry wings. They come tossed in a house-made blueberry sauce that is unlike anything I have ever tasted. The flavor reminded me of a sweet and sour sauce with a little tang and a touch of magic. Every bite was juicy, tender, and completely crave-worthy.

The owner, Stan, is a former Army vet who has always loved cooking. He has tried other ventures, yet food keeps calling him back. The restaurant has only been open about two weeks, and people are already buzzing. The portions are generous, and you must try their homemade lemonade. It was cold, refreshing, and hit the spot perfectly.

They are open seven days a week from 7am to 7pm. If you go early, the breakfast menu is also a must. You can get dishes like chicken and peach waffles or a scrambled egg bowl, and most breakfast items are under $10. That is almost unheard of in Atlanta these days.

Do yourself a favor and stop by. Tell them I sent you. You will not be disappointed.
