A Touch of Disney Magic in the Workplace

I am so excited to announce that I’ve accepted a new position with the State! I officially start next month, and I couldn’t be more thrilled. This role is especially meaningful to me because I’ll be helping people who have been laid off or are unemployed find new career opportunities. It truly feels like a fresh start for the new year purposeful, fulfilling, and perfectly timed.

With this new chapter comes a brand-new office space, and I’ve already started thinking about how I want to make it my own. I don’t want to overdo it, but I do want the space to feel warm, inviting, and comfortable a place where people immediately feel at ease the moment they walk in. Creating a welcoming environment is important to me, especially since this office will be a space where encouragement, guidance, and new beginnings happen every day.

Anyone who knows me knows I love a little personality in my space. My previous office was playful and fun, with touches of Disney that always sparked conversation and made people feel relaxed. It became a place where coworkers loved to stop by and hang out and I definitely want to carry that same energy into this new space. This time around, though, I’m aiming for a more refined version of that vibe: still fun, still warm, but elevated and chic.

I’m envisioning a modern office with clean lines and calming tones, layered with subtle personal touches that reflect who I am. Soft neutrals paired with hints of pink, cozy textures, and thoughtful details can instantly make a space feel more approachable. A few carefully chosen decorative pieces framed art, a stylish desk accessory, or even a tasteful nod to my Disney love can add character without feeling cluttered or overwhelming.

Lighting will be key, too. I want the space to feel bright and peaceful, whether that’s through natural light from the window or a warm desk lamp that adds a cozy glow. Fresh flowers or greenery are another must they bring life into a room and instantly soften the space.

Ultimately, my goal is to create an office that feels professional yet personal, polished but comfortable. A space that reflects growth, positivity, and a sense of calm the perfect backdrop for new beginnings, both for myself and for the people I’ll be helping every day.
