Get The Look: The Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show Makeup Breakdown with Pat McGrath

If there was one thing that had me completely mesmerized during the 2026 Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show, besides all those gorgeous wings and fabulous lingerie, it was the BEAUTY! Oh my goodness, the models looked absolutely stunning, and their makeup was giving soft, radiant, glowing goddess vibes!

And who better to create that signature Victoria’s Secret Angel glam than the legendary makeup artist herself, Dame Pat McGrath, affectionately known throughout the beauty industry as “Mutha!”

The iconic makeup artist and global beauty curator took us behind the scenes to reveal how she and her talented team created those dreamy runway looks. From softly smoked winged eyeliner and fluttery lashes to rosy cheeks, sculpted lips, and glowing skin, Pat shared some fabulous beauty tips that we can actually recreate at home!

And you already know I was taking mental notes because I LOVE a pretty, feminine soft-glam moment!

The Victoria’s Secret Angel Glow Is All About Radiant Skin!

According to Pat, the vision for this year’s makeup was simple: gorgeous, stunning, glowing women!

Working with the show’s creative direction, Pat wanted the models to look fresh, beautiful, and luminous while still bringing a little extra drama to the eyes.

This year, the makeup featured a slightly more defined winged eyeliner look with a soft, smoky finish, plenty of lashes, beautiful blush, and lots of highlighter.

But here’s the interesting part!

Pat explained that the team wanted the glow on the models’ bodies to flow seamlessly onto their faces.

To achieve that gorgeous, all-over radiance, they layered blush and highlighter before adding a touch of moisturizer to the cheekbones for an extra dewy finish.

Now, that’s a beauty trick I can definitely get behind!

I love makeup that makes your skin look healthy, fresh, and radiant without appearing overly heavy. There’s just something so pretty about a glowing complexion, especially when paired with soft pink cheeks and a glossy lip!

Pat McGrath’s Must-Have Products for Angel-Inspired Makeup

When asked about the essential products needed to recreate the Victoria’s Secret Angel look, Pat had quite a few beauty favorites!

Her must-haves included:

  • Eyeliner: To create that beautiful, softly smoked cat-eye effect.
  • Fluttery lashes: Because a little extra lash drama makes everything prettier!
  • Blush: For those fresh, rosy, feminine cheeks.
  • Lip liner: To define and sculpt the lips for a polished finish.
  • Highlighter: To create that gorgeous, luminous runway glow.
  • Moisturizer and skincare: Because beautiful makeup starts with well-prepped skin!

I especially loved that Pat emphasized skincare. As much as I enjoy playing in makeup, I’ve learned that preparing your skin makes such a difference in how your finished look turns out.

And can we talk about blush for a moment? I absolutely adore a pretty pink blush! It instantly makes the face look fresh, youthful, and feminine.

Mutha’s Secret to the Perfect Winged Eyeliner!

Now, this was one of my favorite beauty tips from the entire behind-the-scenes interview!

If you’ve ever struggled to create the perfect cat eye, Pat has a simple trick that makes so much sense.

Start with an eyeliner pencil before applying liquid eyeliner!

Pat recommends sketching out your desired wing using a pencil first because it’s easier to correct mistakes.

Once you’ve perfected the shape, you can trace over it with liquid eyeliner for a sharper, more dramatic finish.

And here’s another little beauty secret: Always keep a pointed cotton swab and makeup remover nearby!

The pointed tip helps clean up the edges and create that precise, lifted wing without disturbing the rest of your makeup.

I thought that was such a clever tip!

Sometimes liquid eyeliner can be a little intimidating, especially when you’re rushing to get ready for an event. Starting with a pencil gives you more control and helps prevent those frustrating makeup mishaps.

I’m definitely keeping this trick in my beauty routine!

The Secret to Seamless Face and Body Glow

Another fascinating beauty technique Pat discussed was making sure the models’ faces matched the beautiful glow of their bodies.

She explained that after spending the summer wearing sunscreen, the face can sometimes appear lighter than the rest of the body.

For the Victoria’s Secret runway, the makeup team focused on warming up the complexion and creating a seamless, radiant finish from the face down to the body.

The secret was combining complexion products, blush, highlighter, and moisturizer to bring everything together.

I love this technique because nobody wants their face looking like a completely different shade from their neck and shoulders, especially in photographs!

As someone who attends red carpets and media events, I know how important beautiful makeup application is under bright lights and camera flashes.

That gorgeous, blended glow can make all the difference!

Behind the Scenes With Gigi Hadid and the Glam Squad!

During the beauty breakdown, Pat also gave viewers a peek at her talented makeup team working backstage with the models, including the gorgeous Gigi Hadid!

We got to see the artists carefully applying liquid eyeliner, perfecting the wings, and using pointed cotton swabs to clean up every little detail.

It was so interesting watching the precision that goes into creating what looks like effortless beauty on the runway.

And that’s the thing about great makeup artistry. Sometimes the most natural-looking glam requires the most attention to detail!

The models looked absolutely beautiful, and you could tell the entire team was working hard to make sure every Angel was runway-ready.

Tami’s Take: Soft Glam, Pink Blush and Glowing Skin? Yes, Please!

I have always admired Pat McGrath’s incredible artistry. She has such a gift for transforming faces and creating beauty looks that feel glamorous, feminine, and fashion-forward.

What I especially loved about this year’s Victoria’s Secret makeup was that it wasn’t overly complicated or theatrical.

Instead, it enhanced the models’ natural beauty with glowing skin, softly defined eyes, pretty cheeks, and beautifully sculpted lips.

That’s my kind of makeup!

I love a good soft beat, especially for everyday wear, but when I’m heading to a red carpet or a fabulous event, I don’t mind adding a little extra sparkle, lashes, and glow!

And while the Victoria’s Secret Angels were serving full runway glamour, I think so many of these beauty techniques can easily be incorporated into our everyday routines.

Whether you’re getting ready for date night, brunch with your girlfriends, a special occasion, or simply want to feel a little more fabulous, these tips are definitely worth trying.

My biggest takeaway? Beautiful makeup starts with beautiful skin, and a little blush, highlighter, and fluttery lashes can go a long way!

Now, excuse me while I go practice my winged eyeliner and add a little more glow to my cheekbones!

What was your favorite beauty look from the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show? Are you a soft-glam girl like me, or do you prefer a bold, dramatic makeup moment?
